The Sue Ryder Dalkey residential facility lies within the historic village of Dalkey. A superb location overlooking Dublin Bay and Dalkey Island, close to all the amenities in the village with its fantastic local shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and on the easy local transport on the Dart line.

There are currently 50 units of accommodation in a combination of bungalows and apartments right beside the sea. In Dalkey we provide a range of amenities and supports tailored to enhance our residents overall well-being. From cosy living spaces with private gardens, to the amazing views of Dalkey Island, inviting communal areas and local conveniences right outside our gates. Our aim is always to create an environment that promotes independence, dignity, and a true sense of home for all our residents.

Our Dalkey residents have multiple activities and attractions to enjoy. The social club meets weekly and have activities such as exercise routines, play cards, knit or just enjoy the refreshments and each others' company. Many residents are join the local bridge club and meditation takes place in the oratory weekly and the blessed sacrament on Saturdays. There is a choir and poetry group and the residence have five acres of small gardens and communal herb and vegetable gardens. With countless walking spots, historical buildings, Sandycove village and DunLaoghaire pier so close by. The more adventures may like a trip to Dalkey Island in the summer with a picnic with the family or simply watching the seals from the shore. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.

A full lunch is served each day in the dining room to ensure a balanced diet for those to wish to avail of a meal or they their own full kitchen to cook for themselves. Among the facilities is a sitting room where there is a great selection of books, TV room for residences to relax, connect and enjoy with friends and other residence. We also have a beautiful prayer room for quiet reflective moments at the top our the historic building with amazing view of Dalkey Island and Howth. This building has a elevator to ensure all residents can access this tranquil space. We have beautifully maintained gardens with seating areas and beautiful walkways for a stroll and all our residences enjoy their own little garden.

Our laundry service ensures that their washing needs are taken care of, a cleaning service helps maintain a tidy and comfortable living environment, and regular maintenance is carried out to address any issues promptly. All of this helps ensure that our residents can focus on enjoying their independent living experience without the worry of day-to-day tasks.

Living in Sue Ryder Dalkey also means becoming part of a well-known established community with plenty of outside activities and good shopping facilities and social amenities in the immediate vicinity.

"The Sue Ryder development in Dalkey is on one of the most prestigious sites in South Dublin, with views over the whole of the Dublin Bay. The site consists of 35 bungalows & 15 apartments. Dalkey, as a beautiful village provides excellent services to the local community and promotes healthy living beside the sea. Dalkey has a wide variety of shops including many restaurants & coffee shops, bakeries, local retirement groups, a post office, newsagents, churches all a 2 minute walk from the Sue Ryder development. This along with its proximity to Dublin city centre makes Sue Ryder - Dalkey a wonderful place to live. Dalkey also promotes its heritage town status with local book festivals and talks and is proud of its locality with various festivals throughout the year such as the local Crab & Lobster Festival each August. The Sue Ryder Ireland in Dalkey is a significant component in the community of Dalkey and the Foundation works with the local business and community groups to enhance the lives of the residents at the Dalkey development. The Foundation also opens its doors to retirees in the vicinity to avail of the activities held within the development, for example some take part in the walking groups and aerobics classes. Computer classes are delivered by the Transition Year students from Loreto Dalkey with the aim of teaching the residents computer basics on a one to one basis. And the local priest comes and says mass on a Saturday evening in the beautiful oratory for those that would like to attend.
